Hello forum friends and enemies!
With all this hoopla and butthurt and neiner-neiner attitude siht thats been being propagated (me included) I think its time for a detailed account of why we all need to calm the f.u.ck down.
I am a mad-bomber, and holy hell is it fun!
Going vertically in DUST sans dropship has been talked about and wanted AND warranted in DUST pretty much since ever. Go to dustseach if you dont believe me (id link but dont have enough time atm to **** around there)
Now I understand that alot of you do not like the change for arbitrary reasons:lore, cod-cloning, 'srs bzns', ' i got killed by a flying RE', whatever,. And the MATHS! oh sweet lord the maths! Ratatti has commented that it might not be working correctly, so please stfu about that right know.
But just as theres arbitrary reasons against it, there are arbitrary reasons FOR it.
Lore: super soldiers taking ridiculous amounts of combat drugs that are directly injected into them at all times while wearing the most advanced iron man suits. how in the eff are we NOT jump-dropship punching all the damn time??
Unreal Tournament Cloning: uses Unreal, so at somepoint, it was going to happen.

There, with that out of the way, lets continue.
As the title says, ive spent since Echo-live bombing the siht outta people, and its incredibly difficult to be effective, and annoyingly satisfying when you are.
Jumping like a kangaroo doping while high on krokadile meth is incredibly difficult TO CONTROL mobility correctly.
soon as you go up, you lose all control, you are a 'sitting duck' while gliding through the hostile air.
the arc becomes predictable to anyone that has played other FPSs before, and after a day or two, everyone here should have it down pat as well.
As others have mentioned, moon jumpers are usually shield tankers burning all their high slots for jump-mods. That should get your pants tight, because omg are we thin-skinned. There is no greater feeling of dread than going vertical in a minja to hear CR bullets whiz by your head.
The point im getting at here is WE ARE PAPER THIN.
After my extensive bombing last night, putting up stupid good MD/RE kill numbers, my wallet was figuratively crying, because i hardly did better than a 1.5kdr.
Jump suits are a true epitome of a glass cannon. And that itself, is what is going to keep them in check. By the end of the night last night, instead of seeing 6-7 jumpers a match, it was down to 2 maybe 3. People are already learning its not a long term choice, as Ratatti has pointed out in another thread.
Between the paper thin suit and effing dying from FALL DAMAGE repeatedly , if myos get changed or tweaked you are effectively hurting those who use only 1 or at most 2.
The guys using low numbers of them, are doing so to avoid terrain issues, like ledges and dead spot. Kinda like the exact purpose of the redesign. Having 2 myos on my FG cal-sent means i can get to the top of that damn bunny hill to shoot that new tank as it rolls by, hoping to get a plus +75 before it regen all its health in under 10 seconds.
Going vertical actually made me give a siht about DUST last night again.
You can be butthurt and mad, or you can be calm.
Ill try to be calm, but ill continue to squeal with joy when i 4-man kill heavies on the point thats way up on all that Caldari scaffolding.
So please everyone, lets give it a week, re-adjust our aim, shoot things (out of the sky) and try to have some fun.
If not, ill fukking PLC you.
